The BUT 051 RAY experimental plane is electrically powered. This method of drive can be used in civil aviation to propel small planes as an environmentally friendly and economical alternative to the classic piston engine generally used in such aircraft.

The parameters of the new engine (the ratio between performance and weight) mean that it can also be used for other types of transport.

TECHNICAL PARAMETERS:

  • electric motor: maximum take-off performance: 53 kW, nominal maximum power: 40 kW
  • battery: 3 060 cells / 34 × in parallel /90 × in series
  • nominal energy reserve: 34.15 kWh.
