Institute of Materials Chemistry

We are engaged in the research and development of inorganic, polymeric and composite materials, glass and ceramics, as well as refractory materials and metals.

We focus on applications for industrial production, the modification of technologies, designing new materials, procedures and putting them into practice.

We offer the following:

  • Elemental and phase analyses of samples
  • Testing and development of binding and construction materials
  • Measuring particle sizes
  • Testing the durability and resistance for all materials
  • Testing metals and detecting the degree of corrosion
  • Controlled processes of firing at temperatures up to 1700°C
  • Measuring rheological properties
  • Structural analyses
  • Determination of volumetric changes (Le Chatelier, Kallauner-Rosa, Graf-Kaufman)
  • Development and implementation of operational analyses
  • Syntheses of polymers and biopolymers
  • Evaluation of the mechanical properties of polymers (tensile, bending, fracture-mechanical)
  • Evaluation of the viscosity and viscoelastic properties of polymers
  • Processing plastics – compounding, reactive extrusion
  • Thermogravimetric analyses (TGA, DTA)
  • Development of new materials based on polymers and polymeric composites
  • Evaluation of the stability and degradation of plastics – prediction of useful life
  • Evaluating the morphology of polymeric materials
  • Accelerated ageing of plastics – UV, thermo-oxidative
  • Identification of unknown plastics (DSC, FTIR)
  • Troubleshooting the operational issues of plastics manufacturers
  • Computer simulations of the behaviour of polymeric and composite materials
  • Professional training in the sphere f processing, evaluating the properties and stability of plastics and inorganic materials for corporate purposes
