We specialize in analyses, designs and the implementation of information systems (intranet, extranet). We conduct research, develop complex dynamic systems and apply them in the field of civil engineering. We analyse the safety building works based on models of the spread of fire and the emergency evacuation of people. We are engaged in modelling transport; creating and validating traffic systems; creating building information models (BIMs) and sustainable building; visualization of building works; unconventional methods of controlling complex systems (control systems based on language or qualitative models for technological processes); virtual forms of education and online learning.

At the same time, the department is engaged in the continuous development of the faculty’s information system, through which most of the educational and administrative tasks related to study are realized. The acquired knowledge is utilized in developing and implementing similar solutions for research partners and partners in the private sector. One essential part of our activities is lifelong learning, realized in particular through the Third Age University.
