We are engaged in researching and developing building materials, technologies for their production, including testing.

Basic research and the applied development of building materials is intended for all spheres of civil engineering, and is geared towards their effective use in building structures, their durability and their ability to reduce costs. We also emphasize issues regarding the environmental impacts of new materials and the possibilities for recycling them.

We offer the following:

- concretes, mortars, ceramics, insulating materials, repair materials, surface finishes, glass-based materials, polymers etc.

- use of conventional, secondary and renewable materials

  • Laboratory and “in situ” testing of materials

- mechanical characteristics using destructive and nondestructive methods

- thermal-technical and moisture parameters

- monitoring the rate of corrosion and degradation of materials/their durability

- studying structure and microstructure, with detailed monitoring of the dominant properties

- our own accredited testing laboratory

  • Technical supervision

- structural-technical surveys of masonry, steel-concrete and timber structures

- projects for the rehabilitation of degraded structures

- supervision in realization of building and rehabilitation works

  • Lifelong learning – courses accredited by ČKAIT

- Technology of concrete

- Durability and the rehabilitation of concrete structures

- Designing and realization of masonry structures


Equipment for physical-mechanical and physicochemical tests (presses, automated freezing equipment, optical microscope, porosimeters, raster electron microscope, laser analyser of particle size, furnaces, thermographic camera, differential thermal analyser, X-ray fluorescence analyser, X-ray diffraction analysis, infrared spectroscopy, air-conditioning chambers for simulating aggressive environments and durability monitoring etc.). By effectively interconnecting each of the particular methods we are able to carry out comprehensive testing and material evaluation.
