How to get from point A to point B in a typical town? Everyone who has answered the question using a car knows personally the problems with parking and permanent traffic jams. These are only some of the issues of today’s urban transport.


At the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Brno University of Technology a unique design for an ice resurfacer has been developed. The designer Ing. Róbert Machálek, a postgraduate at the Institute of Machine and Industrial Design, worked on his project under the professional supervision of academic sculptor Ladislav Křenek.


Researchers Doc. Tomáš Březina, CSc. and Ing. Zdeněk Florian, CSc. of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Brno University of Technology have developed a unique device for mechanically testing the functional elements of human body and a way to manufacture the device. The device was developed based on cooperation with the healthcare industry to solve specific clinical problems. 


In cooperation with the Technology Transfer Office, which provided a draft contract and settled all administrative matters, we have managed to sell the licence for HYPERFIT software to interested entities in both the commercial and academic spheres. Thus the software has found its way e.g. to the USA, Columbia and Germany.


Mail boxes used by Czech Post are distinguished by an angular metal frame enclosing an orange fibreglass box. Students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Brno University of Technology, have rejuvenated the mail box design and created a more modern look. 


Doc. Robert Gepl of the Institute of Solid Mechanics, Mechatronics and Biomechanics and Ing. Pavel Čoupek, a postgraduate student at the Institute of Machine and Industrial Design at Brno University of Technology, have cooperated in developing a comprehensive robot design. Its innovative concept for an undercarriage gives the new mobile robot a truly unique industrial design.
